Inviro Medical Names Joint Commission Member to its Board

ATLANTA -- Fred Brown, immediate past chairman and member of the board of commissioners of the Joint Commission, has been named to the board of directors of Inviro Medical Devices, a manufacturer of infection control products.  With a career spanning 40 years, Brown has spent the last two decades serving as CEO of various healthcare organizations and is currently chairman of Fred L. Brown & Associates, LLC, an international consulting company.

As a member of Inviro's board, Brown will provide strategic guidance to the company.  "I am eager to work with Inviro Medical Devices' experienced management team and provide counsel to support its innovative infection control products," says Brown.  "Based on my private and public sector experience, I am acutely aware of the challenges surrounding employee safety and medication labeling. I believe the company's InviroSNAP! safety syringe and its writable InviroSTRIPE can help significantly in addressing these issues."

Brown emphasizes the important role healthcare organizations play in society and has served in leadership roles with numerous high-profile organizations. He has considerable experience overseeing complex healthcare networks and serving as a director of two major group purchasing organizations. He is past chairman of the American Hospital Association and the National Kidney Foundation, as well as past governor and regent of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

"We are delighted to attract a healthcare executive with Fred Brown's experience and stature to Inviro's board," says Gareth Clarke, chief executive officer of Inviro Medical Devices. "His decision to join us represents a significant endorsement of the company, its management and its product line, which now helps address both employee and patient safety.  Fred's appointment demonstrates Inviro's commitment to developing a world-class board of directors."
