EDMONTON, Alberta -- Medical Services International Inc. announces that it has begun negotiations with a Korean firm that specializes in distribution of medical products to act as our distributor for the VScan Rapid Diagnostic Test Kit for the West Nile Virus in Korea.
The West Nile Test Kit is designed to reache the same level of accuracy as the other VScan test kits (greater than 99 percent). The West Nile test kit has been designed as an aid in the diagnosis of the West Nile Virus as well as a preliminary screening device for the West Nile Virus. The West Nile Virus test kit is able to detect any antibodies of the West Nile Virus in exposed subjects. The results are obtained in less than 20 minutes. Current testing takes several weeks before results are available. The key factor in limiting the spread of the West Nile Virus is the rapid diagnosis in the field at the source. Media reports have shown that the West Nile Virus can cause severe health problems including paralysis and even death. The West Nile Virus can also be transferred from human to human through blood transfusions and organ transplants.
