TRACY, CA-San-I-Pak, Inc. has created a new division named San-I-Pak Management Services (SMS) that will offer both consultation services and in-house management of medical and solid waste to healthcare facilities. SMS will assist hospitals by reducing their waste management budget and still complying with stringent Federal regulations. They will evaluate a healthcare facilities' current waste management program and create a proposal with recommendations to streamline and improve the program. The proposal will offer San-I-Pak sterilization and handling equipment including maintenance, lease, and purchase options; retrieval of medical waste including sharps exchange; packaging and manifesting of chemotherapy and pathological waste for off-site transportation; waste contract management; waste-related inventory maintenance; plus personnel to facilitate all aspects of the medical and solid waste management program. Additionally, the SMS management program will also allow hospitals and healthcare facilities to reap the benefits of San-I-Pak's ability to negotiate bulk quantity pricing for transporting and disposing waste.
Three individuals with a combined 30 years in the medical waste industry have joined San-I-Pak to manage this new division: Patricia Kimbell, PhD; Patrick Chapman; and Donald Holland. They all have backgrounds in healthcare and previously occupied positions at Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) as Director of Planning, Medical Waste; Healthcare Area Vice President of Marketing & Sales; and Middle Atlantic Healthcare Sales Manager respectively.
