Embracing Online Learning
As a PC owner, I recently did something I thought I would never do... go to the "dark side." That dark side was my purchasing a Mac. This was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a long time. I have always been a PC kind of guy, and I dreaded the learning curve that was a head of me. I was uncomfortable and unsure of my decision.
Before my purchase I visited many websites to learn the pros and cons, spoke with friends and even read a couple of magazine articles. Since my purchase, I spoke to friends, read magazine articles and even purchased, "Macs for Dummies". Those Dummies books really aren't for dummies after all! I have also turned to the manufacturer, Apple, who has an "Apple-Care" service providing one-on-one training and support. Apple also provides a number of online tutorials which have been very useful in my quest for knowledge. The online learning can be done on my time, and at my pace, which was something I felt very comfortable with. Because of these services (reassurances) I now feel somewhat confident in my purchase.
Online learning isn't new to me. As a media publisher, one of our goals is to provide educational opportunities for our readers and followers. Online education has been a logical educational step because of time and convenience. One of the best options have been Webinars. Over the years, we have produced a number of high-quality Webinars which we have offered free of charge. If you haven't had a chance to participate in a Webinar, why not start today?
Our next Webinar, "Sterilization and Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing: An Expert Discussion Regarding the Latest Information," will be held on April 27, 2011 To register, or to learn more about our other Webinars, click HERE.
