Thoughts on the H1N1 Outbreak Anniversary

Don’t miss Dr. Richard Wenzel’s thoughtful op-ed piece on the one-year anniversary of the novel H1N1 influenza virus outbreak in The New York Times today. Wenzel is a professor of internal medicine and a specialist in infectious diseases at Virginia Commonwealth University. Acknowledging the challenges posed by this strain,  Wenzel notes, “In our own country, the virus struck at a time when Americans seemed particularly skeptical about our government and large institutions.
