ICT Virtual Event Starts Today!
The ICT Virtual Event starts today, and I hope that you are already registered and ready to be a part of this dynamic online conference for the professional development of infection preventionists! If you have already registered, you will have received an important email from us detailing your log-in information, but I'd like to remind all attendees of a few key points from that email that will make your conference experience much smoother.
We strongly encourage you to test the computer that you will be using today to ensure that you have the minimum technical requirements to attend. To check your computer, please be sure to click on the link invluded in your reminder email sent out today. Because many of you may be accessing the event from a hospital computer, it's important to determine any potential issues with firewalls, etc. with which your hospital IT personnel can assist you before the event begins. And here's an important reminder -- to allow pop-up windows, you will need to turn off the pop-up blocker in the privacy tab on your Internet browser settings -- you'll want to be able to see pop-up windows so that you can take the course evaluations and post-tests to earn the contact hours of continuing education. To see the agenda and to determine which courses offer contact hours, visit: http://www.ictconference.com/2011/agenda.html
We recommend that attendees log in at 6:30 a.m. PT/7:30 a.m. MT/9:30 a.m. ET to explore the virtual environment before the first live educational session begins, so that you are acclimated to the virtual event surroundings and can become familiar with how everything works. The email that we sent you also contains an excellent guide to the event, so that you will know what to expect.
We hope you can join us over the course of the next two days, but in case you can't be available, the sessions will be archived and accessible to all registered attendees 24/7 for the next six months. We have some incredible speakers, and a great bunch of exhibitors, and we look forward to seeing you in cyberspace!
