SOMERVILLE, NJ-The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared labeling for BIOPATCH Antimicrobial Dressing. The labeling recognizes the dressing's efficacy in reducing blood stream infections due to central venous or arterial catheter infection. A controlled, randomized study of 687 patients showed the dressing reduced the incidence of catheter related blood stream infections by 60% and the incidence of local infections by 44%.

The dressing is produced by Johnson & Johnson.

Kimberly-Clark Creates New Medical Glove

ATLANTA-Officials at Kimberly-Clark Health Care have announced the design and production of a new glove that will be added to their Safeskin collection

The Safeskin NEON Nitrile synthetic medical examination glove is powder free, latex-free and is lightweight. The glove reportedly also conforms to the wearer's hand.

Kimberly-Clark Health Care, based in Roswell, GA, manufacturers a variety of medical products including gloves, drapes, gowns, and other personal protective equipment.

ST. Petersburg, FL-Officials from Integrated Health Services, Inc., have filed a Joint Plan of Reorganization and related Disclosure Statement with the US Bankruptcy court. The company has a scheduled hearing before the court Dec. 20 to see if the statement will be approved.
