Cardinal Health Signs Agreement with Premier to Provide Medical and Surgical Kits

DUBLIN, Ohio -- Cardinal Health, Inc., a leading provider of products and services supporting the healthcare industry, today announced it has signed two non-exclusive agreements with Premier to provide a variety of kits to Premier's hospital and healthcare system members. Both agreements run for three years beginning Aug. 1, 2006. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the first agreement, Cardinal Health will manufacture and distribute nearly 100 configurations of standard operating room basin, suture removal, and laceration kits to Premier's members.

As part of the second agreement, Cardinal Health will manufacture and distribute standard and custom personal care kits, including non-sterile admission, pediatric, and amenities kits. The company will provide 22 types of standard kits.

"These two contracts are a great complement to the custom-kitting contract that we have with Premier," said Jeff Blair, Cardinal Health's vice president of marketing for Presource. "This will allow us to more effectively build customer-focused programs using our full range of kitting solutions with the Premier membership."

Premier Inc. is a healthcare alliance entirely owned by more than 200 of the nation's leading not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare systems. These organizations operate or are affiliated with nearly 1,500 hospitals and more than 38,500 other healthcare sites.
