New TB Quat Cleans Up Market

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A new TB quat disinfectant has been registered by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an intermediate-level disinfectant.

3M's TB Quat Disinfectant Ready-to-use Cleaner is non-acidic and can be used for healthcare environments, schools and other facilities.

The product meets the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard.

"The TB quat disinfectant is another cleaning and maintenance solution from 3M that helps provide better cleaning, increased productivity and a safer facility," says Adam Moritz, company senior chemical marketer. "This one-quart container is safe and ready to use in areas where mixing is not an option. It can be kept in work areas and used at a moment's notice."

The product has show to be effective in killing: the bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis, HIV-1, AIDS, MRSA, VRSA and VRE. It can be used on the following non-porous surfaces: metal, stainless steel, porcelain, plastic and glazed ceramic tiles.
