MUNDLEIN, Ill. -- Medline Industries, Inc. has been awarded an agreement for hand-hygiene products by Novation, the supply company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), two national healthcare alliances that represent more than 2,400 healthcare organizations. The three-year, multi-vendor agreement offers significant savings to Novation's VHA and UHC members.
The agreement calls for Medline to provide its broad array of hand and body hygiene products featuring its Protection Plus soaps co-labeled with The Dial Corporation. Medline recently teamed with Dial to provide high quality skin care products for healthcare professionals.
The agreement includes the following new Protection Plus products:
·Protection Plus Antimicrobial Soap - a clear antimicrobial soap that is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeast and mold. It comes in a variety of packaging, including flip top, pump, bag for wall dispensers and gallon containers.
·Protection Plus Enriched Lotion Soap - designed to help replenish moisture that is lost with frequent hand washing. It comes in a variety of packaging, including flip top, pump, bag for wall dispensers and gallon containers.
In addition, the agreement also features Medline's Epi-clenz, an alcohol-based instant hand sanitizer and its Soothe & Cool line of skin creams and lotions with aloe. As an alcohol-based handrub, Epi-clenz is an important element of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s new hand-hygiene guidelines, which now strongly recommends the frequent use of these types of products. Epi-clenz is available in gel and foam, both containing germ-killing ingredients as well as added moisturizers to leave hands feeling soft and refreshed.
As part of the agreement, Medline will provide Novation's VHA and UHC members with education on proper hand hygiene techniques through its team of clinical specialists, as well as support materials all offered at no extra cost.
Medline is ISO 9000, EN 46000 registered and FDA QSR compliant, the most stringent international standards for producing quality products. As a leading supplier of quality products, Medline is asked to serve on major industry quality committees to develop guidelines and standards for medical product use. Some of these organizations include the FDA Midwest Steering Committee, AAMI Sterilization and Packaging Committee and the various ASTM committees.
With the addition of this new hand-hygiene agreement, Medline now has agreements with Novation that include surgical instruments, IV start kits and central line kits dressing kits, custom procedure trays and unitized delivery systems, hand hygiene products, surgical instruments, admission kits, suction catheters, home care, long-term care and small procedure trays.
