Volunteers Donned Gloves to Distribute Thanksgiving Meals, Courtesy of Ansell Professional Healthcare

LOS ANGELES -- In the holiday spirit of giving, Ansell

Professional Healthcare donated 100 boxes of powder-free vinyl gloves and

posters with tips on safe food handling for the Salvation Army Southern

California Division's annual Thanksgiving eve dinner. Volunteer servers

wore the gloves while distributing turkey dinners with all of the trimmings

to approximately 2,400 homeless and low-income men, women and children from

The Salvation Army's social service programs and downtown LA skid row

missions. The Thanksgiving celebration was held at the Los Angeles

Convention Center's South Hall on Nov. 26, 2003.

"I wanted my children to experience Thanksgiving at a new level and enjoy

the rewards of volunteering," said Julie Martini, senior account manager,

Ansell Professional Healthcare. "It was touching to see the smiles and

receive the kind words of appreciation from young and old in need who were

treated to a delicious turkey dinner and some very special entertainment."

Bob Saget emceed the entertainment, which included a variety of musical

performances and appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Councilwoman Jan

Perry, Anthony Pena, Judge Pregerson (California's 9th Circuit), and Richard

Riordan were among the volunteers. At the conclusion of the event, each

child in attendance was presented with a new toy.

"It was our privilege to support an event of this magnitude that touches so

many lives during the holidays," said Bob Bachkosky vice president of

marketing for Ansell Professional Healthcare. "We hope that the use of our

gloves helped expedite the process of safely serving meals to the large

crowd."
