Pharmacy OneSource Hosts Webinar on Infection Prevention Preparation for a Joint Commission Survey

Wolters Kluwer Health announces that Pharmacy OneSource, a software-as-a-service provider of Sentri7, a real-time infection prevention surveillance, documentation and reporting system, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Brenda Helms, RN, BSN, MBA/HCM, CIC on "Joint Commission Readiness for Infection Control."

Helms will discuss preparing for a Joint Commission survey, spending time on the risk assessment, evaluation and plan. Different approaches to rounding will be discussed. She will also go over the processes in place that helped her facility to achieve a deficiency-free Joint Commission survey. Helms will also go over the importance of a culture of readiness and how persistent readiness whether TJC is expected to show up or not can reduce the stress related to a survey. She will also relay some key elements that put into place during the survey to help with the success of the survey.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST. To register, visit: http://www.sentri7.com/infection

Helms currently works for a partially-physician-owned cardiovascular surgical hospital and has practiced in infection prevention for the past five years. She has been a member of the board of directors for the Texas Society of Infection Prevention and Control for the previous three years. She has also been active in the local APIC D/FW Chapter as program/education chair and currently serves as president-elect.
