The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. (SGNA) will host a webinar on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. CT that will present valuable information on the SGNA Standards of Infection Control in Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes (2012). The third webinar in a series of four, this virtual event is part of SGNA’s ongoing focus to educate GI/endoscopy nursing professionals on the issues impacting today’s healthcare practice.

The webinar features speakers who will cover infection prevention education in three different ways:

• David Greenwald, MD, will explain why proper infection control and reprocessing are so important.
• Michelle Day, MSN RN CGRN, SGNA Practice Committee chair, will provide an overview of the Standards of Infection Control document.
• Barbara Zuccala, MSN RN CGRN, SGNA Practice Committee member, will discuss how to implement this standard into your practice setting.

Attendees will be able to earn one contact hour of continuing education. The price of the webinar is free for SGNA members and $10 for non-members.

A recording of this webinar will be available in November 2012 in SGNA’s eLearning Center. SGNA members may access the recording for free for one year. Non-members may purchase the eLearning module for $20.
