Kimberly-Clark Health Care is now offering its Kleenex® Clean Hands Care Patient Kit to hospitals and othger healthcare facility customers. The Kleenex Clean Hands Care Patient Kit was created for hospitals to provide to patients at the time of admission. Comprised of hygienic products that can be used by patients and visitors, as well as educational materials on proper hand hygiene, the kit is designed to empower patients to create a safer healthcare environment.
Every year, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) claim more lives than breast cancer, auto accidents and AIDS combined. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified hand hygiene as one of the most important ways to prevent the spread of HAIs in hospitals. The Kleenex Clean Hands Care Patient Kit is a new tool for hospitals to help encourage hand hygiene best practices among patients and help reduce the spread of infections.
“Now more than ever, it is important for patients to be engaged and educated about hand hygiene best practices to help in the fight against infections. At Kimberly-Clark Health Care, we are committed to helping those patients, as well as their visitors and healthcare workers, reduce the risk of acquiring or spreading infections in a healthcare facility,” says Jason Burnham, associate marketing director for Kimberly-Clark Health Care. “The Kleenex Clean Hands Care Patient Kits were developed to help our customers encourage greater patient involvement in infection prevention, leading to an overall healthier hospital environment.”
The Kleenex Clean Hands Care Patient Kit contains a bottle of Kleenex hand sanitizer, a Kleenex tissue pocket pack and Kleenex wet wipes for the face and hands. The kit also includes a patient guide to hand hygiene and a door hanger to remind staff and visitors to wash and sanitize their hands when entering or exiting their room.
