PDI announces the launch of its new Sani-Cloth® Pail and Refill format for Sani-Cloth® Bleach and Sani-Cloth® AF3 Germicidal Disposable Wipes. The new pail and refill packaging is specifically designed to address the needs of Environmental Services Professionals (EVS) and contains 160 pre-moistened, ready-to-use, extra-large wipes. Each pre-moistened wipe contains the proper concentration of disinfectant, reducing labor time and compliance issues associated with mixing or measuring chemicals. Sani-Cloth® Pail and Refill meets the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) Practice Guidance for Environmental Cleaning.
Studies have shown pathogenic organisms such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium Difficile can survive on environmental surfaces for days to several months, making EVS professionals critical to reducing the transmission of infections in healthcare settings. Recent data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), revealed that the industry is far from reaching the goals outlined in the National Action Plan to Prevent Healthcare Associated Infections, specifically relating to reductions in hospital-onset MRSA bloodstream infections and hospital-onset Clostridium difficile infections. “Not only do EVS professionals play a critical role in reducing infections, they also positively impact patient satisfaction scores and readmission rates,” says Melanie Kupperman, product manager for Sani-Cloth®. “The new pail format was developed to ensure we are continually meeting the needs of every department involved in quality and infection prevention processes.”
With the addition of the Sani-Cloth® Pail and Refill System, PDI now offers a total EVS wipe solution. Sani-Cloth® is the leading surface disinfectant wipe in healthcare. Sani-Cloth® Bleach Germicidal Disposable Wipes are ideal for disinfecting high-risk areas endemic with Clostridium difficile spores and Norovirus. It is tested effective against 50 microorganisms, with an overall contact time of four minutes. Sani-Cloth® AF3 is tested effective against 44 microorganisms, including 12 clinically relevant Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms (MDROs) with an overall contact time of three minutes. It is ideal for disinfecting around patients and residents, particularly those with respiratory sensitivities.
