ST. LOUIS - The Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification reports more than 100 candidates have registered to take the first certified administrator surgery center examination.
"We are extremely pleased with this response," says BASC president Joe Jordan. "When the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association (FASA) discussed the possibility of developing a credential for ASC administrators there was overwhelming support among board members that a credential was needed, but until the candidates enroll, you do not know whether it will be successful."
The exam will be given Sept. 28 at St. Louis University in St. Louis. The following exam will be given May 8, 2003 in Boston.
