Updated Flu Guidance Has New Data About H1N1, Recommends Masks Over Respirators for Routine Care

The Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota is reporting on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s recently issued new guidance for preventing flu in healthcare settings. This new guidance document reflects new information about the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus and recommends surgical masks rather than N-95 respirators when providing routine care for patients with influenza infection.
