Rick Schultz
is president and CEO of Spectrum Surgical Instruments. He is renowned as a public speaker in the areas of instrument processing and quality assurance, and cost reductions through effective instrument processing and repairs. He also works as a consultant for hospitals on processing and productivity development. He is a contributing editor for the books; Sterilization Technology in the Healthcare Facility, Second Edition and Central Service Technical Manual Fifth Edition, Sixth Addition in 2003. In May 1999, Schultz received the “Distinction of Honor Award” for his commitment to education in the healthcare industry and in May 2002, he was named Educator of the Year. In April 2005, he completed the textbook Inspecting Surgical Instruments: an Illustrated Guide, which will be developed into a National Certification Program.
