Alzheimer's Gene Link

Possible Path to Treatment

(BASEL, SWITZERLAND) Roche Holding, Ltd and Decode Genetics Inc. announced that they have identified a gene that, in mutated version, predisposes carriers to develop the most common form of Alzheimer's disease: late-onset. Other genes in mutated form have also been linked to both early and late-onset Alzheimer's disease in recent years. This latest finding may help to better understand the disease and develop diagnostic tests to identify those at risk.
