RESTON, Va. -- The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA), a national trade association representing national and regional healthcare distributors, reports that president and CEO Ron Streck plans to retire as leader of the association effective Dec. 31, 2003. Streck's career at HDMA spanned more than 26 years, including service as staff attorney and as a leader in government affairs prior to his becoming CEO in 1992.
"Ron has had an incredible career at HDMA," said HDMA Chairman Jon Borschow. "His commitment to this association has been unflappable over the past 26 years, and he was a valuable, credible, and committed leader."
In light of Streck's announcement, HDMA will consult with members and assemble an executive search team consisting of HDMA board members and senior HDMA staff to find a new president/CEO. The search team will begin meeting and discussing prospective candidates in October. Nancy Hanagan, HDMA executive vice president and COO, will perform interim CEO duties in close cooperation with the HDMA board until a replacement is found.
HDMA's mission is to secure safe and effective distribution of healthcare products, create and exchange industry knowledge affecting the future of distribution management, and influence standards and business processes that produce efficient healthcare commerce.
