MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Tyco Healthcare and Novation have agreed to multi-source contracts covering Kendall's standard needles and syringes as well as safety needles, pre-filled syringes and other related products. Tyco Healthcare is one of several approved suppliers chosen by Novation to support this business having an aggregate annual estimated value of $125 million. These agreements become effective January 1, 2003.
"Tyco Healthcare is excited by the opportunity to supply Novation members with our needles and syringes. This represents a tremendous growth opportunity for Kendall as prior to these awards we didn't have a contract position with Novation for needles and syringes," said Jim Clemmer, President of Kendall's SharpSafety Division.
"These awards are the result of a three year strategic plan to improve quality, capacity and technology in our needle and syringe franchise. These awards include the Monoject Magellan Safety Needle, which is quickly becoming the preferred choice for needle stick protection in our industry."
Brands covered by these agreements include Monoject needles and syringes, Magellan safety needles, Monoject PreFill syringes, and other related items.
