Cintas Corporation today announced it has opened submissions for its 2011 Wear the Care Contest. In its third year, the contest offers the winning facility an opportunity to transform their image with a $10,000 apparel makeover from Cintas. The first 100 entrants will receive a digital picture frame.
"Healthcare staff image is a critical component of patient satisfaction," says John Savage, director of healthcare marketing for Cintas. "The Wear the Care Contest offers healthcare facilities an opportunity to update their image while giving patients the comfort of easily identifying staff."
In addition to the apparel makeover, the grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 donation to the facilitys foundation in the entrants name, an image seminar for healthcare staff conducted by Roberta Hughes, president of Avidere, LLC, and an expert Cintas image consultation. Seventy-five honorable mention prizes will also be awarded. These prizes include complimentary gift cards, logo mats, Cintas Sanis® UltraClean restroom cleaning services and discounted Cintas tile and carpet cleaning services.
After winning last years Wear the Care contest, the foodservice department at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. was able to update its apparel program after several years of budget cuts that limited purchases.
"The new uniforms give staff members confidence whenever they enter a room," says Leila Frankland, foodservice manager for Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. "There has been an attitude change. Patients and managers talk about how much more the employees smile and look happy and how theyre more outgoing. They feel good."
To enter the 2011 Wear the Care contest, healthcare professionals must submit details of why they feel their department staff needs a new apparel program, the impact they anticipate it will have on patient satisfaction and a photo of current apparel. Entries must be received by Dec. 31, 2010.
