Soft Surface Decontamination

Most healthcare institutions have implemented a comprehensive infection prevention program that includes hand hygiene, contact precautions and hard-surface cleaning and disinfection, in order to control and eliminate healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). But one important component of these programs that some hospitals may be missing is soft-surface decontamination. This slide show provides information about the role of soft surfaces in HAI transmission and offers highlights from the latest webinar, "New Trends in Environmental Hygiene: Decontaminating Soft Surfaces," available from the Surface Disinfection Insights Center in January.
