DENVER The Association for periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) is offering a two-week online course that prepares nurses for a successful CNOR exam. The courses will be held July 11-25 , 2005 and Nov. 7-21, 2005.
Course benefits include:

Prospective students include any registered nurse who is an eligible candidate for the CNOR exam and who wants to increase his or her chances of passing it.
Learning objectives include:
-- Identify the governing body who administers and grants Certification Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
-- Develop an individualized educational program using test testing strategies to prepare for the CNOR exam
-- Apply principles of asepsis and infection control measures for patients undergoing a surgical procedure
-- Integrate safety principles when providing care to patients and families
-- Discuss the safe use of pharmacological principles and the nursing role during the administration of anesthesia
-- Utilize critical thinking skills, nursing literature, and research findings in planning care for patients who develop perioperative complicationsIntegrate the concept of patient advocate into daily care of patients
