HLAC Offers Laundry Checklist Tool for Infection Preventionists

The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) presented an educational session at the annual meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) held in New Orleans in July. The presentation focused on educating infection preventionists about key healthcare laundry protocols, how accredited laundries support infection prevention strategies, and the importance of validating supply chain partners.

During the session, HLAC's executive director, Kathy Tinker, introduced a new checklist tool developed by the HLAC that can assist healthcare professionals responsible for touring and selecting a laundry provider. The primary goal of the new tool is to help healthcare professionals in understanding what questions to ask and what to look for during a laundry visit.
