As part of its ongoing campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, Medline Industries, Inc. announces the launch of its new "Pink Pearl" powder-free nitrile exam glove. To aid the prevention and early detection effort, Medline will donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for each case sold of the new pink glove.
The Pink Pearl combines the properties of nitrile for superior barrier protection with an organic aloe vera lining for comfort. The glove also features a bright pink sheen to create a glamorous appearance and a visual reminder of breast cancer awareness. The glove is the newest member of the "Generation Pink" exam glove family, in which all the gloves are colored pink to convey breast cancer awareness. The Generation Pink line includes a standard nitrile exam glove and the original vinyl glove featuring patented third generation technology.
"The new Pink Pearl, like all of our Generation Pink gloves, is a tangible symbol of our ongoing commitment to breast cancer awareness, early detection and prevention," says Brian Palmer, president of Medline's glove division. "Gloves are the first point of contact between the healthcare worker and the patient, and because they are pink, we hope they will get people talking about breast cancer."
Medline provides a complete line of latex and latex-free products featuring patented aloe and 3G technologies. This 3G technology features an advanced polymer formulation that offers outstanding sensitivity with a unique softness and flexibility.
The introduction of the new Pink Pearl is a continuation of Medline's support of breast cancer awareness and early detection. Every pink gloves sale supports Medline's partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help fund mammograms for women who cannot afford them. Medline also builds breast cancer awareness at forums for nurses and other healthcare workers, and through social media and events such as the Pink Glove Dance video. The original video has been seen more than 11 million times since it was introduced in 2009. The sequel to the Pink Glove Dance video will premiere Sept. 17, 2010 at www.pinkglovedance.com
