OstoSolutions Announces New Ostomy Pouch Disposal Seal

Article

OstoSolutions™ announces the availability of its new, patent-pending, Ostomy Pouch Disposal Seal for Hollister, ConvaTec and Coloplast ostomy pouch users. Now, for the first time, there’s a simple, effective product that lets people with an ostomy, or “ostomates,” go where they like and do whatever they desire, without worry about odor concerns.

The lightweight seal, made of recycled plastic, is simply inserted into the coupling ring opening of any two-piece used closed-end ostomy pouch or used drainable ostomy pouch with “clipless” tail closure technology. A toilet is not needed for changing the pouch, and by enabling odor-proof disposal, the Ostomy Pouch Disposal Seal ensures discretion no matter where the change is made.

In addition to odor control, users of the Disposal Seal have found that using the Seals is more sanitary than previous disposal methods, such as Ziploc or black zipper bags. It is all too easy to spill the contents of a pouch when placing it into a bag, as opposed to popping on a Seal, which come in a variety of sizes designed for secure placement on all major manufacturers’ pouches.  As part of an overall infection control plan, which includes taking good care of the stoma and thorough handwashing following a pouch change or drainage, these Seals help ostomates stay healthier – all while improving quality of life by removing disposal odor concerns.

“I know first-hand how significantly this product improves the quality of life for anyone living with an ostomy,” says Johnnie Cason, founder of OstoSolutions, inventor and user of the Ostomy Pouch Disposal Seal. “A day of golf or a game of tennis, an afternoon out on a boat, going out to a leisurely dinner – by being able to  make a change in any private setting, while eliminating disposal odor concerns, this simple product has brought these activities and more back into my life and the lives of others living with ostomies.”
