A comprehensive, multi-modal approach to infection prevention and control is one of the best ways to tackle healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).  It’s essential to incorporate as many interventions as possible, including surface cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene and skin antisepsis, antimicrobial stewardship, as well as risk assessment and management, standard precautions, and surveillance when appropriate.
