Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions, announces the kick-off of its third annual Ansell Cares H.E.R.O. [Heal, Educate, Reach, Overcome] Nurse Service Award, which recognizes nurses who have made lasting impressions on their peers, their patients, their profession, and their communities.
Every day, in every corner of the world, nurses create a warm and comforting environment, while administering medications, dressing wounds, listening carefully, and finding solutions to make each patient’s life a little better. Too often, their contributions go unrecognized. Ansell is honoring and celebrating the H.E.R.O. nurses who selflessly dedicate their lives to improving the level of care provided within healthcare facilities. Ansell also announces that the 2015 H.E.R.O Nurse Service Award will expand internationally, with implementation in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
“The Ansell Cares H.E.R.O. Nurse Service Award was established as a way to demonstrate our appreciation and admiration for nurses: their professionalism, dedication, and compassion,” says Anthony López, president and general manager of the medical global business unit at Ansell. “As a truly global company, it’s only fitting that for 2015 we expand this already successful U.S. program to include nurses from around the world.” Details about the U.S. H.E.R.O. Award Nominations are below.
Last year’s H.E.R.O. program created quite a stir, as nurses enthusiastically nominated their peers. Website visits exceeded 40,000 and hit an emotional chord throughout the nursing community. In addition, more than 30,000 votes were cast to identify the ten recipients of the 2014 Ansell Cares H.E.R.O. Nurse Service Award.
From March 8, 2015 through April 9, 2015, U.S. residents are invited to nominate their nurse hero online at www.ansellhero.com. On April 10, 2015, voting will begin and continue through May 12, 2015 -- the last day of National Nurses Week.
The top 10 nominees with the most votes will receive the 2015 Ansell Cares H.E.R.O. Nurse Service Award, which includes a plaque and a Nursing reference book (ARV for all prizes is $2,050) and will have their story profiled online. In addition, Ansell will make a donation to a selected charity in the name of the nominee with the most overall votes. No purchase necessary. All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where prohibited. Organizations shown or advertised in connection with this promotion other than Ansell are partners of Ansell, but are not sponsors of this promotion. The full official rules for this promotion can be found at the address above.
