Allegiance Healthcare Grows

MCGAW PARK, IL-Allegiance Healthcare Corporation, a subsidiary of Cardinal Health, Inc., is expanding its Northeast Distribution Center (NEDC) in Montgomery, NY. The NEDC provides medical, surgical, and laboratory products to healthcare facilities in the New England area. The 60,000 square-foot addition will include a 14-crane Witron Automated Storage and Retrieval System, an automated material handling system that assists employees who are picking and packing products. It pulls products quickly and accurately, storing them in plastic totes to create shipments of low units of measure. This space saving ability reduces the amount of corrugated packaging benefiting healthcare facilities with a small amount of storage space.
