Medline Industries, Inc., the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies, announced today that it has acquired the assets of O'Mara Scientific, based in Grandville, Mich. O'Mara distributes personal protective equipment (PPE), lab supplies and other safety related products to the pharmaceutical, life science, biotech and healthcare industries. O'Mara operates facilities in Michigan, Connecticut and Puerto Rico.
"We're delighted to welcome O'Mara's employees and customers to Medline," says David Greenberg, Medline's executive vice president of strategy. "This acquisition strengthens our position to provide cost-effective products, programs and solutions to some of the largest organizations and government agencies."
Medline manufactures and distributes more than 100,000 products to hospitals, extended-care facilities, surgery centers, home care dealers and agencies.
