MUNDELEIN, Ill. -- Medline Industries, the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies, announced today that its vice president of clinical education, Cynthia Fleck, RN, BSN, ET, WON, CWS, DAPWCA, MBA, has been elected to serve as the nurse member on the board of directors for the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC.)
The AAWC is a multidisciplinary, international, nonprofit association, headquartered in the United States that strives to build a collaborative community to facilitate optimal care for those who suffer with wounds.
One of a team of advanced wound care specialists at Medline, Fleck has been an invaluable resource to Medline customers and their patients since joining the company last year. "Cynthia's experience and passion for skin care make her a great fit four our advanced skin care clinical team. Medline places a premium on providing our customers with current, comprehensive, performance driven educational offerings that balance clinical goals with bottom line cost," said Medline Dermal Skin Management Department president Jonathan Primer. "Cynthia's contribution to the growth of this program has been and will continue to be critical to our success."
Fleck is an active member of numerous professional organizations. She serves as a member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Wound Management (AAWM.) Fleck serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA.) She is a board member the Wound Care Institute. In addition, Fleck is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Society, Dermatology Nurses Association, the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, the Canadian Association of Wound Care, the American Burn Association, the International Society for Burn Injuries.
A resident of St. Louis, Fleck has a bachelor of science degree in nursing with a minor in nutrition from Southeast Missouri State University. She graduated with her Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse specialty through M.D. Anderson and the University of Texas. She is certified through the American Academy of Wound Management as a board certified wound specialist. Fleck also earned an MBA in administration from Fontbonne University.
