ANNANDALE, New Jersey-The board of directors of the National Institute for the Certification of Healthcare Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel (NICHSPDP) has announced that the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has granted the group a five-year accreditation.
The accreditation will be applied to NICHSPDP's three certification programs for technicians, supervisors, and managers. It was awarded after an intensive review process. NICHSPDP submitted documentation of the process leading to and since the first certification examination was administered in April 1991. Since 1992, the NICHSPDP has been a member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA), which is the professional organization for the NCAA.
Infection Control Todayr features monthly continuing education courses. Those concerning Central Sterile workers are certified by NICHSPDP.
