Sage Products LLC was awarded the coveted Innovative Technology designation for the Nose To Toes Pre-Op Prep Kit at the Novation Innovative Technology Expo held in September. The Nose To Toes Pre-Op Prep Kit, which includes nasal antisepsis, oral cleansing and skin antisepsis, helps address infection risk factors on the three main reservoirs of bacteria: the nares, the oral cavity and the skin. It is used before surgery as part of a comprehensive approach to reduce patient bacterial flora - the No. 1 risk factor for surgical site infection (SSI).
The Prep Kit was awarded the Innovative Technology designation following a review by more than 200 attendees from hospitals around the United States who serve on a Novation council or task force and participated in the Expo. These key opinion leaders indicated that Sage Product’s Nose To Toes Pre-Op Prep Kit offered key benefits over other products available on the market.
“We are pleased that Novation-served hospital representatives acknowledged the Nose To Toes Pre-Op Prep Kit as an inventive and solution-focused product,” says Olya Carter, RN, senior clinical manager at Novation. “We are excited about the value this product will provide to the members of VHA, UHC, Children’s Hospital Association and Provista.”
“This designation is a significant acknowledgment of our on-going efforts to improve patient care,” says Patrick Schwab, senior product manager of surgical care for Sage Products. “We continue to strive to innovate and provide best-in-class infection prevention products in the battle to reduce readmissions from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).”
This new designation will also identify Sage Products’s Nose To Toes Pre-Op Prep Kit as an awarded Innovative Technology product within Novation’s online contract catalog, which is accessible by the more than 100,000 members and affiliates of VHA Inc., UHC, Children's Hospital Association, and Provista served by Novation.
