Slideshow

This slide show presents information on the discovery of a new species of bacteria (Borrelia mayonii) that causes Lyme disease in people, as well as an experimental method developed by federal and university researchers that appears capable of detecting Lyme bacteria at the earliest time of infection, when currently available tests are often still negative.
