VA Investigating Potential Contamination of Scopes

CNN.com is reporting today that the Department of Veterans Affairs is looking into a possible link between poorly sterilized endoscopy equipment and a veteran who tested positive for HIV. The investigation comes at the request of  Florida senator Bill Nelson and follows the new story that as many as 10,000 veterans may have been exposed to HIV and hepatitis at three VA facilities while undergoing colonoscopies and other procedures.
