Anna Katrina Arifin, MD, MBA, MT, CIC, is a seasoned health care leader with over a decade of experience in infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and health care quality improvement. She has led national and corporate-level programs across multiple hospital systems, significantly reducing health care-associated infections and enhancing patient safety.

With a doctor of medicine, an MBA in Healthcare, and certifications in Infection Control and Medical Technology, Dr Arifin combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership. She currently serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus and continues to contribute to public health through education, consulting, and system-wide infection control initiatives.

Despite its critical role in patient safety, infection prevention and control (IPC) remains one of health care’s most misunderstood and understructured professions.
