AAMI Offers Webinar on Core Skills Related to High-Level Disinfection

April 28, 2015
Article

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is offering the webinar, "High-Level Disinfection: Core Skills Review," on May 13, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern time.

The high-level disinfection process requires a solid understanding of how and why certain chemistries are used and their effects. This webinar will focus on the process of high-level disinfection including a high-level review of the chemistries involved, a review of the core skills and best practices needed for successful processing of surgical instruments through the high-level disinfection process, and a thorough examination of lessons learned from recent failures in practice compliance.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Analyze the current low-temperature processing methods utilizing high-level disinfection
- Identify the various chemicals used during high-level disinfection
- Explain the nature of disinfectants and their active components

The speaker is Michael Salloum, a corporate SPD consultant.

This program has been approved for one contact hour by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) and the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM).

The cost is $79 per registration for AAMI member and $99 per registration for non-members. To register, CLICK HERE.
