For the first time, Novation has included surgical instrument cleaners under the NOVAPLUS® brand, Novations private label brand of pharmacy and medical-surgical products and services. The award was given to Case Medical, an FDA-registered, ISO certified manufacturer and formulator of sustainable instrument chemistries. Effective Jan. 1, 2013, NOVAPLUS instrument chemistries will be available to the members served by Novation. This award will result in significant cost savings on Case Medicals products for these members and contributes to the organizations health and safety goals. Â
The NOVAPLUS line of instrument cleaners, manufactured by Case Medical, has been validated for effectiveness in independent laboratories and in university studies, and has met EPA standards for safer chemistry. By eliminating hazardous solvents, environmentally persistent surfactants, and other harmful ingredients, Case Medical has demonstrated active environmental stewardship and dedication to continuous improvement.
Case Medicals line of instrument chemistries under the NOVAPLUS label includes both ready-to-use and concentrated pH neutral cleaners for each step in the decontamination process, including pre-cleaning and soaking as well as manual and automated cleaning. These instrument cleaners are ideal for standardization as each product has been designed for ease of use, for multiple applications and are synergistic. The enzymatic pre-cleaners and cleaners are composed of excellent surfactants and high levels of protease, amylase, lipase and a cocktail of several cellulase enzymes.
The NOVAPLUS product line falls under Case Medicals award from the U.S. Environment Protection Agencys Design for the Environment (DfE) program.   This means that the Case Medical Surgical Instrument Cleaners under the NOVAPLUS label have met EPAs stringent requirements and contains only the safest chemicals in their class to protect the health of people, their families and the environment.
