GOJO Launches Its SMARTLINK Observation System

June 21, 2015
Article

GOJO Industries, the inventors of PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer, announces that it has launched its GOJO® SMARTLINK™ Observation (OBV) System, a mobile application that connects to GOJO SMARTLINK web-based software and allows for the electronic collection and collation of hand hygiene and PPE compliance metrics.

The OBV System allows observers to collect hand hygiene and PPE observations using either a smartphone or tablet. Once collected, the data is then automatically collated and sent to the GOJO SMARTLINK software for easy, real-time reporting and feedback.

In addition, this system, which is available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, can be customized for specific hand hygiene protocols, including in/out compliance, the World Health Organization's Five Moments for Hand Hygiene and the Canadian Four Moments of Hand Hygiene.

"By using the OBV System, infection prevention (IP) professionals can easily analyze and utilize hand hygiene and PPE compliance observation data," says Tamara Cross, GOJO product manager, hand hygiene compliance systems. "This new system is designed to increase the standardization of data, which in turn, provides more accurate and detailed reporting. Plus, it will save IP professionals hours of desk work each month by eliminating the need to transcribe data and create reports."

The OBV System app is available for download from the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores. Infection preventionists can experience the app by clicking on the Demo Mode on the login screen or by emailing smartlink@gojo.com to request a free trial.

The OBV system is the newest addition to the SMARTLINK solution. Other components include:
• GOJO SMARTLINK™ Activity Monitoring System monitors and measures compliance on a community level providing real-time actionable data by floor, unit or room.
• GOJO SMARTLINK™ Integrated Technology is compatible with most leading healthcare technology platforms, such as Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS), and provides hand hygiene compliance at an individual level by communicating with RTLS-enabled employee badges.
• GOJO SMARTLINK™ Clinician-Based Support provides GOJO clinicians who become part of the hospital's infection prevention team and provide customized implementation, on-site audits, setup, baseline measurements and detailed improvement plans.
GOJO offers a breadth of hand hygiene solutions to the healthcare market including high-efficacy formulations, advanced technology dispensing systems and the SMARTLINK™ Hand Hygiene Solution that is built upon a state-of-the-art electronic compliance monitoring platform.
