Article

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) recently released its Guide to Hand Hygiene Programs for Infection Prevention, which focuses on topics such as regulatory oversight and reporting, hand hygiene products, hand hygiene monitoring and program implementation and strategy. GOJO, the inventors of PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer, served as the sponsor of the guide.

The guide was developed based on input and expertise from a broad array of industry experts from both practice and research settings. The easy-to-use guide is designed for infection prevention professionals as well as non-infection prevention healthcare professionals. It is available for download on the APIC website.

“Hand hygiene is one of the most important measures we can take to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs),” says David Mackay, GOJO vice president sales and marketing healthcare. “As an organization, we are committed to increasing hand hygiene compliance to decrease the occurrence of HAIs.
