The new PURELL™ Surface Spray products are available through GOJO distribution and online retailers.

PURELL™ Advanced Workforce Solution
The PURELL™ Advanced Workforce Solution provides a workplace with a comprehensive hand hygiene program to help reduce the spread of germs that may cause illness. In fact, a workplace outcome study published in The Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (JOEM) found that offices equipped with PURELL® Hand Sanitizer and PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes throughout the building and at employees' desks resulted in 24.3 percent fewer healthcare claims tied to doctor's visits for hand hygiene preventable illnesses – such as cold, flu and respiratory illnesses – than the office and employees in the control group without these products. This reduction in claims generates hard dollar cost savings, which, in turn, fund the program.

This study, which is the first to link a reduction in healthcare claims to the ready availability of hand hygiene products, was done in collaboration with Medical Mutual of Ohio, the oldest and largest health insurance company headquartered in Ohio.

The major findings of the study included:
•24.3% lower incidence of hand hygiene preventable insurance claims compared to the control group
•13.4% fewer sick episodes or unscheduled paid-time-off (PTO) in 2014-2015 in the intervention group compared to the previous year
•8 in 10 employees indicated having PURELL™ products throughout the office positively impacted their impression of their employer

"As a physician, I am a strong advocate for hand hygiene," said William Jarvis, MD, co-author of the study and former acting director of the Hospital Infections Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "This well-designed, 13-month, real-world environment study, with thorough analysis of four years of retrospective data, shows that when people use PURELL™ products only a few times a day, it can reduce sickness and ultimately reduce a trip to the doctor's office. Improving the health of workplace employees should be every employer's top priority."

GOJO SMARTLINK™ Service Alerts
Building on nearly a decade of experience in developing and commercializing market leading Internet of Things (IoT)- based solutions for hand hygiene performance in healthcare, GOJO is expanding its capabilities to help the commercial building market enhance operational efficiency and productivity. GOJO SMARTLINK™ Service Alerts provides a facility's management and cleaning staff with real-time monitoring of refill status, battery life, dispenser status and building traffic activity. The solution works by collecting usage and status data for each GOJO-monitored device. GOJO technology then collates this information and sends real-time updates via online, email or mobile devices. Utilization of this data enables predictive and proactive servicing of building restrooms, eliminating inefficiencies in workflow and consumable waste.

GOJO Commitment to Sustainability
GOJO was a Platinum Sponsor of the Green Clean Schools Forum at this year's ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America. The event brought together leading university facility operators to raise awareness about green cleaning best practices, products and trends that will help them elevate their cleaning programs. GOJO corporate communications director Nicole Koharik co-led a workshop about healthy infection control practices for the education market, including the importance of hand hygiene and navigating products with third-party certifications. Participants were able to test multiple PURELL™ products, including new PURELL™ Disinfecting and Sanitizing Sprays.

GOJO Support of City of Hope
GOJO supports City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center that is rapidly advancing scientific discoveries into better treatments and better prevention strategies for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. In Sept. 2016, Steve Schultz, GOJO North America & International Business President and Chief Operating Officer, was named the 2017 City of Hope Spirit of Life® Honoree. Schultz will serve as the honoree through Sept. 2017. To support City of Hope research, GOJO is donating 25 cents for every bottle of PURELL® Hand Sanitizer Spring Bloom that is sold, up to $75,000.
