HIV-Positive Muppet to Join S. Africa Sesame Street Cast

JOHANNESBURG - South African Broadcasting Corp., officials are reporting a new character is in the works for "Takalani Sesame" - the nation's version of Sesame Street.

The character will be HIV-positive and is being introduced in an attempt to teach children about the disease. The character will fight stereotypes linked to HIV/AIDS, which has infected some 4.7 million people in the country.
