IDSA Asking Physicians to Speak Up About Antibiotic Stewardship

Article

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is asking physicians all over the country to speak up and contact Congress about the urgent need for a new drug approval pathway for desperately needed antibiotics. The Special Population Limited Medical Use (SPLMU) mechanism provides an important new approval option for pharmaceutical companies interested in developing drugs to treat patients with serious infections where few or no treatment options exist.

Physicians interested in supporting the enactment of this new mechanism can visit http://www.capwiz.com/idsociety/issues/alert/?alertid=61084991 to quickly and easily reach out to their Congress members.
