IDSA Hosts Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza Meeting

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) will host its 2011 Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza Meeting Jan. 27 and 28 in Arlington, Va., during the peak of influenza season. Healthcare professionals working in the infection prevention and infectious diseases communities are invited to attend via Webcast.

This year's agenda includes examination and analysis of the current influenza season and discussion on lessons learned from the H1N1 pandemic. Topics will include vaccine development; antiviral therapy; the evolving role of national and local governments and the private sector in influenza control strategies; communication during a pandemic; and recommendations for future research.

Experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Office of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) will present.
