ATLANTA -- Inviro Medical Devices announces a new agreement with Health Affiliated Services, making available the infection control company’s extensive portfolio of InviroSNAP!® Safety Syringe products to the association’s more than 1,500-member alliance of hospitals, health systems and affiliate organizations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Health Affiliated Services, through its association with Premier, enables their member healthcare organizations to aggregate purchasing volume to secure improved pricing.
“This agreement with Health Affiliated Services represents a unique and collaborative partnership, enabling us to place our manually retractable safety syringes in the hands of respected and strategically located healthcare organizations,” says Jim Charlesworth, senior vice president of strategic accounts for Inviro Medical Devices. “This exemplifies the marketplace’s requirement for and interest in a truly unique product that meets crucial healthcare worker and patient needs.”
All of the infection control company’s safety and standard syringe products are available to Health Affiliated Services members including the flagship product, InviroSNAP!® with InviroSTRIPE® Safety Syringe, featuring a patented, integral write-on stripe that allows critical information to be recorded directly onto the syringe barrel. The label helps facilities address the Joint Commission recommendations regarding medication labeling to reduce medication errors. This product feature is available in fixed needle and exchangeable systems.
“The InviroSNAP!® Safety Syringe takes sharps safety to the next level, creating a new category of safety syringe that bridges the gap between bulky retro-fitted models and more expensive automatic retractable syringes,” comments Charlesworth. “Its revolutionary design as a manually retractable syringe places InviroSNAP! in a next-generation product category all its own and it’s available to HAS members.”
Introduced in 2006, InviroSNAP! Safety Syringes feature a distinctive manually retractable design unlike any other product on the market. With hand and fingers safely positioned behind the needle, the clinician administers the dose, pulls the plunger back -- causing the needle to retract inside the barrel -- and snaps off the plunger, permanently disabling the device. The InviroSTRIPE feature was added to the product line during 2007.
Established in 1976, Health Affiliated Services is a group purchasing organization serving customers throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
