Kimberly-Clark Announces Educational Symposium to Address Practical Strategies for HAI Prevention

As part of an ongoing commitment to deliver high-quality clinical education, Kimberly-Clark announces Managing the Spectrum: Infection Prevention for Acute & Ambulatory Settings, to be held Nov. 8-9, 2012. The seminar will be held at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia in Atlanta.

The symposium will address the diverse aspects of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and provide healthcare professionals with the latest evidence-based HAI prevention strategies and best practices from national experts in infection prevention. This educational opportunity is sponsored by Pfiedler Enterprises.

The targeted audience is healthcare professionals in acute and ambulatory care settings where there is risk for infection, including perioperative nurses, infection control practitioners, intensive care specialists, surgical technologists and others who play a role in preventing HAIs.

The seminar will offer 10.0 contact hours.  Following the seminar, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the spectrum of disease transmission and prevention strategies on an international and domestic perspective.
- Identify new developments in the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile infections (CDI).
- Outline steps to mitigate risk associated with the role of the environment in HAIs and articulate how collaboration across the continuum of care reduces adverse events.
