LaserGrade announces that it has signed a new contract with the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) to administer its five levels of professional certification examinations. LaserGrade will convert CBSPDs paper and pencil examinations to computer-based examinations. Beginning in October 2006, all CBSPD examinations will be delivered nationwide via LaserGrades secure network of test centers. LaserGrade, with nearly 1,000 computer-based test centers across the United States and Canada, plus 30 international sites, is the largest United States owned and operated network in North America.
The CBSPD is a non-profit certification board which plans, develops, and administers competency-based certification examinations for personnel performing cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and inventory management activities.
LaserGrade is very proud to be delivering the prestigious CBSPD assessments in our secure proctored network of test centers, says Judith Moore, president and CEO of LaserGrade. Through the use of computer-based testing we look forward to providing increased test security, better and more flexible access, better technology and enhanced customer service for CBSPD candidates. LaserGrade is always proud and honored to be working with organizations, like CBSPD, that set standards to protect public health and safety.
Nancy Chobin, executive director of CBSPD, states, We are delighted to have such a capable and experienced company as LaserGrade build our computer-based examinations. LaserGrade has been delivering computer-based tests for more than 10 years and really understands our needs.
Our program has been designed to comply with the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, which are the highest in the industry. In addition, the CBSPD program is NCCA-accredited. LaserGrades expertise in the industry will help us maintain these high standards. It is a very exciting time for our candidates who will now be able to test via computer at a secure, proctored and conveniently located test center. The best of brand has just become better.
The CBSPD examinations will be provided four times a year; the remaining test date for 2006 is Oct. 16-21, 2006, while the 2007 test dates are as follows: Feb. 19-24, 2007, May 7-12, 2007, Aug. 6-11, 2007, and Nov. 5-10, 2007.
An unofficial score will be given at the completion of the exam; a final official score will be mailed to candidates two weeks after the exam to allow for a quality assurance process to be performed with psychometric analysis to verify results.Â
The international examinations will remain paper pencil for the time being and still be offered twice a year.
New application forms and Candidate Bulletins will be available from the CBSPD after July 5, 2006. Visit the CBSPD Web site at http://www.sterileprocessing.org/ after that time for further information about practice computer tests, etc.
