McKesson Medical-Surgical Launches Infection Prevention Web Resource Portal for Healthcare Providers

Article

McKesson Medical-Surgical has launched UPrevent, a new web resource portal, to help healthcare providers understand and adhere to infection prevention guidelines in their facilities. McKesson Medical-Surgicals goal for the UPrevent portal is to create the healthcare industrys most comprehensive source for infection prevention information.

Were in business for better health for all patients. By collecting infection prevention information in one location, in the UPrevent portal, we believe we can equip healthcare providers with the knowledge they need to prevent infections and reduce this significant health threat, says Joan Eliasek, senior vice president of marketing and supplier management.

For easy navigation, information on the UPrevent portal is arranged to support the content categories that the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) uses in their infection prevention survey of healthcare providers. The portal features more than 300 links to information from 25 government and professional organizations providing the information that healthcare providers need to build and maintain their own infection prevention program. The UPrevent portal URL is: http://uprevent.mckesson.com
