National Surgical Hospitals Selects Medline as Primary Distributor

Article

National Surgical Hospitals (NSH), an owner, operator and developer of surgical hospitals and surgery centers in partnership with local physicians, has selected Medline Industries, Inc. as its primary distribution partner for medical and surgical supplies. The three-year agreement for distribution services is expected to achieve significant savings for NSH through reduced medical supply costs and distribution efficiencies over the term of the agreement.

Medline will provide its broad array of national brand medical and surgical products directly to NSHs nationwide network of ambulatory surgical centers and surgical hospitals from its 37 distribution centers strategically located throughout the country. The agreement is expected to generate approximately $60 million in sales of medical and surgical supplies through Medline over the course of the deal.

We selected Medline as our distribution partner because of their ability to provide distribution and valuable cost management services to our entire network, says Donna Worsham, senior vice president of operations for NSH. Through their self-manufactured products and distribution efficiencies, Medline is helping to drive down costs and improve our services, which will ultimately enhance our quality of care.
